Call For Papers

More than 350 abstracts have been received and the Program Committee scheduled 18 plenary talks, around 45 oral presentations and the others as poster presentations. Oral presentations will be given in parallel sessions on Thursday.

The ICAME'97 Proceedings will be published early in 1998 in Hyperfine Interactions in two volumes. The first volume will include invited talks and oral presentations. It will be published typeset as part of the Journal on Hyperfine Interactions, Editors-in Chief: Professor H. de Waard and Professor G. Langouche. The number of pages admitted for this volume will be 10 pages for plenary lectures (invited speakers) and 6 pages for oral contributions (invited and selected oral).

The second part of the Proceedings will be published in a special volume, Hyperfine Interactions C, Editors: Elisa Baggio-Saitovitch, Hercilio Rechenberg and Rosa B. Scorzelli. The papers for this volume have to be sent in camera-ready format with 4 pages/paper. A 1.44mb diskette with the final version typed in Word for Windows will be requested later.

Please submit your paper according to the following instructions:

Plenary Lectures and Oral Contributions:

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted in duplicate, clearly typed on one side of the paper only, with wide margins and double line spacing. Unclear typing should be avoided, since it is difficult to read for the typesetter.

Original figures with copies of the paper of the same size as the manuscripts should be included. Half-tone should be black and white only and rich in contrast. Great care should be taken of correct focusing to avoid blurred details.

  1. The paper must have a short abstract.
  2. All papers will be subjected to peer refereeing . Footnotes (as few and as short as possible) should be typed at the bottom of the page on which they occur. Do not mix footnotes and references.
  3. Reference should be typed as follows:

For a journal paper:

[1] A. L. Allsop, V. R. Green and N. J. Stone, Hyp. Int. 12 (1982) 289.

For a book:

No comments or remarks should be made in the references.

  1. Equations should be carefully typed or clearly handwritten, leaving adequate space for printer's annotations.
  2. Tables, which must have a short heading, should be typed on separate sheets of paper.
  3. All Greek letters should be underlined in red. The symbol for sum should not be underlined. Indicate all Euclidean vectors by wavy underlining; do not use arrows.
  4. Special attention should be paid to characters that can be easily misread, such as i (lower case), I (capital), l (ell), 1 (one); '(prime), o (lower case), O (capital), 0 (zero), o (degree); u,v (vee), (Greek nu), V (capital); (multiplication sign), x, X; 2 (two), z, Z; p, P, (Greek rho), etc.
  5. Use the metric system of units and the abbreviations recommended by the SUN Commission of the IUPAP, Physica 93 A (1978) 1-60. The correct abbreviations of some commonly abused units are: sr, fm, keV, Mb. Units must be correctly abbreviated in the figures.

Poster Contributions:

  1. The poster contributions must be submitted in duplicate, camera-ready format with 4 pages.
  2. They should be neatly printed on white A4 paper of good quality and all diagrams should be incorporated in the text. The text, together with diagrams, on any page must fit into an area 250 mm high and 170 mm wide, using single line spacing and 12 pt characters (Times New Roman style).
  3. The manuscript must be composed as follows: title (in capitals, bold, centered), one line spacing, authors (italics) and address (centered), two line spacing, a summary of maximum 100 words, two line spacing, main text, references.
  4. The references should be referred to by putting numbers between square brackets (or slanted lines when square brackets are not available), e.g. [1] (or /1/ ), and should be of the following form:

[1] A. First, B. Second and C. Third, Hyp. Int. 45 (1967) 89.

  1. The pages should be numbered carefully on the back.

Instructions for Poster Presentation:

The available space for each poster contribution will be 120 cm X 200 cm (height X width)
