Web Address: http://nnsa.dl.ac.uk/iuvsta/ Changes will be made to the Conference Programme as and when presentation contributions are received. Please check regularly for updates. News updates maybe sent by email. SCOPE: This workshop is aimed at consolidating the approaches used in low, medium and high energy ion scattering and recoiling to attain atomic layer resolution in surface analysis and to study the structure of the outermost few layers including ultra-shallow interfaces. The issues to be considered include present and future applications, experimental technique, apparatus and computer simulations. INVITED SPEAKERS: J.W. Winn, CLRC Daresbury Laboratory, UK PUBLICATION OF PAPERS: Following IUVSTA guidelines, there will not be a proceedings produced from this workshop, however all participants are invited to submit their work for inclusion in a topic issue of Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research. As a topical issue, the nature and level of referreeing will be identical to that of a normal refereed paper. An expectation of such participation is that the submission should reflect discussion which arose at the workshop and hence it is expected that papers would be submitted to the issue editor (John O'Connor) AFTER the workshop is over. Please indicate whether you plan to submit a paper to this issue. Regards, John )|( (o o) |-----------------------ooO-(_)-Ooo---------------------------------------| | D.J.
