The RBS DataFurnace is the first practical automated solution of the Rutherford backscattering inverse problem ("given the spectrum, what is the structure?"), as first reported in Appl.Phys.Lett. 71(2), 14 July 1997, and in more detail at the IBA-13 conference in July 1997 and at the ECAART conference in August 1997. The four papers on this subject presented at these conferences are now accepted and in the press.
