Post Doctoral Position

Tulane University

The Departments of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and Physics in the School of Science and Engineering and the Departments of Microbiology & Immunology and Pharmacology in the School of Medicine are currently engaged in interdisciplinary research that involves intracranial delivery of TFV and VPA to suppress NeuroAIDS. The project involves the synthesis of titania-based ceramic implants that release therapeutic drugs at a controlled rate to damaged tissue within the central nervous system. We are seeking a postdoctoral candidate with a strong background in inorganic synthesis and who will be capable of performing characterization studies involving advanced physical techniques including TEM, BET surface area measurements, STM, XPS and controlled drug release measurements. Animal studies will be performed to test the efficacy of the drug-loaded devices at the School of Medicine. The position is for a two-year period and is funded by a Tulane University Research Enhancement Fund.
