This miniature is from the manuscript of the statutes of the Order of Saint-Michel. The manuscript belonged to Cardinal Charles de Lorraine, named chancellor of Saint-Michel in 1547. The miniature depicts Henri II surrounded by the great lords and prelates of his entourage.
