Triumph of Marius

This painting is part of a cycle commissioned by Daniele III and Daniele IV Dolfin for the main reception room of Palazzo Dolfin in Venice. The cycle depicts episodes from Roman history and wartime triumphs which allude to the military valour of the patrons themselves.
