In 1627, Tacca cast for Livorno two bronze fountains which were not put in position and were later (1642) installed in the Piazza Annunziata, Florence. The fountains are still in a highly Mannerist style indebted to Flemish Mannerist goldsmith's work for their grotesque masks and shellwork textures.

The fountains were installed in the magnificent square that Brunelleschi designed two centuries earlier, in front of his Spedale degli Innocenti.

The photo shows the fountain on the east side of the piazza with the church of Santissima Annunziata in the background.
