Monument of Ascanio Sforza (detail)

The monument is located in the Cappella Maggiore. Cardinal Ascanio Sforza was the brother of Lodovico il Moro and the enemy of Pope Julius II. The Pope forgave him and commissioned his monument. The monument was inspired by the tombs executed by Andrea Bregno.
