Santa Maria delle Grazie, Arezzo

Toward the end of the fifteenth century, Andrea della Robbia carved a marble altar for Santa Maria delle Grazie outside Arezzo, as an ornament to the Madonna della Misericordia, painted by Parri Spinello. This is the only known work in marble by Andrea. The Pietà below the altar is comparable to similar terracotta compositions by Andrea.
