This altarpiece shows scenes from the life of Christ: Agony in the Garden (top left); way to Calvary (bottom left); Christ on the Cross with the Virgin and two Holy Women, Sts John and Francis (centre); Resurrection (top right); Mourning over the Dead Christ (bottom right).

The altarpiece was probably painted for the Franciscan convent of Santa Chiara, Aquila.
