Wooded River Landscape

-
Oil on canvas, 61 x 78 cm
Private collection

The painting shows a wooded river landscape with a traveller on a track. It reveals that Frederick de Moucheron was heavily influenced by the second generation of Dutch Italianate artists, Jan Asselyn, under whom he trained, Jan Both and Nicholas Berchem.
