Senator Pietro Bernardo died in 1538. His monument was built during his lifetime, it is a late work of Tullio Lombardo. The monument is divided into distinct parts. In the lower part an elegant urn is embellished with beautiful bas-reliefs of Adam and Eve on the sides. The head of the Medusa and the eagle with wings spread are worthy of note. The upper part, added by the Senator's sons Girolamo and Lorenzo, portrays the deceased kneeling before the Redeemer to whom he is being commended by St Francis.
