Dutch family of painters. Jan Davidsz. de Heem is considered one of the most eminent still-life painters of the 17th century. He had many followers, including two of his sons, Cornelis de Heem and Jan Jansz. de Heem (1650-after 1695), and a grandson, David de Heem (1663-c. 1714). Jan Davidsz.'s influence continued until the 19th century.
