This predella panel belonged to an altarpiece dedicated to St Nicholas of Tolentino in the church of San Agostino in Montepulciano. The central panel is still in this church.
The panel represents a Florentine cityscape into which a funeral scene with all its different stages has been integrated. St Nicholas hovers above, preparing for the miracle of raising somebody from the dead.
