This panel was part of a predella, which consisted of the following panels: the Crucifixion (Lindenau-Museum, Altenburg), Road to the Calvary (Museum of Art, Philadelphia), Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane (Pinacoteca Vaticana, Rome), and Lamentation over the Dead Christ (Pinacoteca Vaticana, Rome). The fifth element of the predella is missing. The upper registers of the altarpiece are not known.
