Giovanni di Balduccio was an Italian sculptor from Pisa. The picture shows a detail from the marble pulpit which was executed before 1334 when the artist went to Lombardy, invited by Azzone Visconti. He introduced the Pisan style in Lombardy by the tomb of St Augustine in San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro at Pavia.
