The sense of space is limited in his Banquet of the Gods by a group of figures in the foreground. Floris' abiding interest in the muscular system and in the representation of foreshortened figures, together with his preference for mythological scenes, made him a highly innovative and at the same time very successful artist in Antwerp. His large studio produced a whole series of pupils, assistants and followers.
