The statues of prophets that Donatello created for the Florentine Campanile have truly distinctive features. Today, however, it is impossible to identify the individual figures precisely, due to the lack of any iconographical attributes. Even in the case of this "beardless" prophet it is impossible to say which prophecy he is making as he points so urgently - as if in warning - with his right hand.
