The painting shows the family portrait of Simon and Anne van ÍHaecht (1632-?) with their sons Rombaut François, Adrien (1676-1727), Christophe and their daughter, all standing and seated full-length, before classical architecture. The portrait of this important Mechelen family was directly commissioned from the artist c. 1694.
