Known members of this important Portuguese family of architects are João de Arruda the Elder (active 1485-1490), his sons António de Arruda (first documented 1514), Diogo de Arruda (c. 1470-1531), Francisco de Arruda (d. 1547) and João de Arruda the Younger (active early 16th century), his grandsons Miguel de Arruda (c. 1500-1563) and Pedro de Arruda (died 1543), his great-grandson Dionísio de Arruda (died 1576).
