Peter Lombard (French Pierre Lombard, Latin Petrus Lombardus, c. 1100-1160) was a scholastic theologian and bishop of Paris whose Four Books of Sentences (Sententiarum libri IV) was the standard theological text of the Middle Ages. He taught in Paris c. 1134-1158.
This richly illuminated manuscript of Peter Lombard's Great Gloss on the Psalms, made in Paris about 1180, belonged to a canon of the abbey of St-Victor in Paris.
