Architecture
by Pedro MACHUCA

Eclecticism and consistency are apparent in Machuca's few architectural works, which began in 1526 with his involvement in the ephemeral decorations for the entry of the Emperor Charles V and the Empress Isabella of Portugal into Granada. His most important work is the Palace of Charles V, in the Alhambra. Its design and direction occupied him almost exclusively between 1527 and 1550.
