In addition to the great commissions, El Greco painted between 1576 and 1580 portraits, altarpieces, and representations of popular saints such as St Francis, Mary Magdalen, or St Veronica. One of the key works of the artist's first years in Spain, and his first life-size male nude is the St Sebastian.
