This is a view from the northwest at the east wall of the Sala dei Gigli on the third floor of the Palazzo Vecchio. To the right is the Porta della Catena in the south wall. In the frieze beneath the coffered ceiling are pairs of lions holding medallions containing Florentine coats of arms. The other three walls are ornamented with painted pilasters like the ones seen here and the same pattern of gold lilies on blue ground.
